ADMISSION PROCESS

Students are accepted to Grace Prep School through a formal admissions process:

1.  Attend an Information Meeting

Parents are required to attend a scheduled information meeting about the school in order to fully understand the expectations of their involvement in the education of their child at Grace Prep.  Parents will receive their admissions packet of materials at this meeting. For a listing of Information Meeting dates, go to Info Meetings.

2.  Complete an Application Form

If, after reviewing the school material and praying about this important decision you are still interested in the school, then complete the application and return it to the school office along with all academic records and other information as specified in the application packet.  There is a $50 per student application processing fee required at this time.  This non-refundable fee covers the admissions process.

3.   School Admissions Family Interview

School admissions is a process that is handled by the Admissions Committee.  The purpose of the Family Interview is to make certain that each family has had a personal opportunity to have all of their questions about the school answered and to help determine if GPS is the best educational option for their child. An individual on the Admissions Committee will call to arrange an interview once the admission application is processed. Once the interview has been completed, the family will be informed of the Admission Committee’s decision.

4.   Entrance Testing and Evaluation

Entrance testing is required for all new students enrolling in academic classes. The tests are given to determine placement in the appropriate grade level according to a child's Math and English skills in relation to our curriculum. Parents are required to supply copies of the student’s school grade reports and/or achievement testing (within the last 2 years) prior to or at the time of testing. There is a one-time $40 fee per student for entrance testing for students enrolling in academic courses.

5.   Course Registration and High School Diploma Planning

Once entrance testing results are returned, the school’s registrar will send a registration packet and will be available to help with course registration questions.  Our Academic Advisor will meet with all high school students seeking diplomas to discuss various diploma options for graduation. A fee of $100 is required for registration each semester.

Admission requirements:

Both parental involvement and student cooperation are essential for GPS to fulfill its mission, therefore, the following are required in the admission process:

a)      Parents must sign a form stating their acknowledgement of our Statement of Faith as an expression of who we are and what will be taught in the classroom AND expressing their own personal commitment to Jesus Christ.

b     One or both parents must be born again believers in Christ and the family must regularly attend a Bible teaching Christian church.

c     Parents and students must be willing to abide by the school's policies and regulations as expressed in our handbook or by the Administrator.

d)      Parents must be committed to providing partnership instruction in the satellite classroom on the days that the child is not attending GPS in order to provide quality education in accordance with existing law. Older students are strongly discouraged from working outside the home during daytime school hours on at-home school days.

e)      Parents and students must be committed to the university-model learning experience and Christian environment of GPS.  Each student must willingly adhere to GPS's "Student Code of Conduct," "Dress Code Policy," and all other policies regarding student behavior.

f)       Parents must be willing to use a Christian Conciliation Service to settle any disputes if they cannot be resolved at the school level.

Non-Discriminatory Policy

GPS Ministries makes no distinction in its admission or operating policies with regard to an individual’s race, color, or national or ethnic origin.
